Redwings Horse Sanctuary was established in 1984 and 24 years on has grown to become the largest horse sanctuary in the UK.

Every year Redwings takes in around 200 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules in need of help. Many are elderly, have veterinary problems or are extremely nervous, and these stay in the permanent care of the Sanctuary - which currently looks after more than 1000 equines on a daily basis. Those horses and ponies with the potential for a working life are meanwhile re-homed through the charity’s Guardianship scheme and currently more than 500 equines are enjoying active lives in Guardian homes across the East of England.

Fundraising Project

Redwings is a registered charity and it’s vital equine welfare work is entirely funded by public donation.
