Public Urged to Recycle and Raise Funds
Disability charity Scope is celebrating raising £50,000 from old rubbish and is urging the public to help them raise even more! Their innovative mobile phone and printer cartridge Recycling Appeal allows them to turn these products into much needed cash and taking part couldn’t be easier.
It is estimated that there are 90 million old mobiles just lying around gathering dust in drawers and cupboards across the UK; maybe you are one of the lucky people who received a new one for Christmas. The Scope Recycling Appeal can turn these old handsets and used printer cartridges into valuable cash so next time you are about to drop your empty cartridge in the bin – stop and drop it off at a Scope shop instead.
Funds raised through the Scope Recycling Appeal enable the charity to continue their valuable work towards achieving equality for disabled people. Scope runs education, support and training services for disabled people across England and Wales, and offers information and advocacy advice via its cerebral palsy helpline 0808 800 3333.
Supporting the Scope Recycling Appeal is also a simple way to help our environment. By recycling your mobiles and cartridges with Scope rather than binning them unnecessary waste is diverted from landfill where the toxic substances these items contain can leak into the surrounding soil causing pollution and damaging plant and wildlife.
To help Scope recycle and raise even more funds simply drop your old cartridges and phones into your nearest branch. To find out more about the Scope Recycling Appeal you can call 08451 30 20 10 or visit www.recyclingappeal.com/scope
